Danish brand Gosh recently refreshed its lineup with a new range of wooden eyeliners in natural shades, promising waterproof performance. I picked up the Woody Eye Liner in shade 003 Teak — and here’s how it performs in real life.
The design is minimalistic: a wooden pencil with a cap and end matching the shade. It weighs 1.1 g, made in the Czech Republic, and even has a small rubberized strip on the cap to prevent slipping.
The shade 003 Teak is a warm brown with a touch of red, very flattering for green or hazel eyes. The formula is soft, creamy, and blendable, allowing for smooth application and easy smudging — great for soft smoky looks or pencil technique. It sharpens cleanly, layers well, but unfortunately, it wears down fast.
And here comes the dealbreaker — it’s not waterproof at all. Even light touch smudges it, let alone water. It works decently on the lower waterline if set with eyeshadow, but otherwise, it won’t survive for long. I also tried it on my brows — bad idea, it’s too warm and soft for that.
So, it’s a beautiful everyday liner if you don’t mind reapplying, but definitely not for humid weather or long wear.
