NYX Butta Highlighters — The Duochrome Glow You Didn’t Know You Needed ✨

Not long ago, NYX released a new face collection featuring bronzers, blushes, and highlighters — and as a true magpie, I couldn’t resist the shiny ones. I picked the two most unusual shades (the only one wilder is No. 45 — go look it up, TikTok is obsessed with it): a green and a lavender highlighter. The green one was so hard to find that it literally came to me from Slovenia 😄

The packaging is transparent and fairly weighty, protected only by a sealing sticker. Each pan weighs 5 g and features embossed stars. Surprisingly, they have a light coconut scent — pleasant, non-chemical, and noticeable only inside the compact. The logo on the lid is holographic, adding to the charm.

Shade: Butta Mint

This one turned out to be a duochrome — shifting from lavender to green, reminiscent of Tammy Tanuka’s Sulfur, but less sparkly. The texture is smooth, the shimmer fine, and it gives a luminous yet even glow. It can leave a slight gray cast, so buffing it into the skin works best. Even with a light hand, it gives a noticeable reflective sheen and looks stunning in sunlight. It lasts all day and doubles beautifully as an eyeshadow — it doesn’t crease over primer.

Shade: Butta

Described by the brand as holographic lavender, this one leans more like a topper — packed with multidimensional shimmer that flashes every color of the rainbow. It’s my favorite of the two. When applied lightly, it still shows color without leaving a cast; when layered, it’s blinding. However, it’s oilier in texture and creases quickly on the eyelids, even over a base.

Verdict: both are gorgeous, long-wearing, and versatile — they can absolutely be used as eyeshadows. I’m planning to grab shade 45 next, just for eye looks 😎

Rating: 5 / 5 for both
💶 Price: €10 each
