In my opinion, the most well-known antioxidant is vitamin C. It’s a classic skincare ingredient that my skin has always tolerated well and truly enjoys. And since spring has already arrived, I crave freshness, smoothness, and radiance — all things vitamin C can help achieve. This spring, it has become part of my evening routine in the form of Avène Vitamin Activ C Radiance Corrector Serum.
Avène is my absolute favorite pharmacy skincare brand — I’ve loved it for over 15 years and always have at least one product from the brand in my routine. This serum promises to nourish and plump the skin in 15 days and reduce dark spots within one month, thanks to a powerful combination of vitamin C, niacinamide, and bakuchiol — a plant-based alternative to retinol.
The serum comes in a 30 ml dark glass bottle to protect vitamin C from degradation and features a convenient pipette. The texture sits somewhere between a lotion and a gel. It has a pleasant scent that doesn’t irritate the nose. The serum is milky, opaque, non-sticky, and absorbs quickly. Thanks to its slightly dense consistency, it instantly hydrates and nourishes the skin.
I use the serum in the evening after removing makeup. After 10–15 minutes, I seal it with a basic, non-active moisturizer — either hydrating or with collagen. The serum doesn’t conflict with any creams, doesn’t clog pores, and feels very comfortable on the skin. It truly softens and brightens the complexion, making the skin look healthier and more refreshed. I didn’t fully notice the promised “plumping” effect, but I absolutely love the overall condition of my skin: no dullness, no dryness, no breakouts.
A great find from a brand I deeply trust.
