Garnier Cleansers: A Nostalgic Return to Affordable and Effective Skincare

I decided to relive my student days and return to Garnier — a brand you can find in any drugstore. I’ve always liked their products: affordable, simple, and reliably good. This time, I picked up two new facial cleansers.

The first one is the Hyaluronic Aloe Gel Wash with hyaluronic acid and aloe. With 97% natural ingredients, it promises to tighten and cleanse pores and is suitable even for sensitive skin.

The packaging is standard: a blue 200 ml bottle with a small nozzle dispenser. The gel itself is clear, quite runny, and has Garnier’s signature fresh, slightly grapey scent (which I absolutely adore).

It lathers beautifully — just a tiny drop is enough to wash the entire face. It doesn’t dry out the skin and cleanses perfectly. I usually use it in the morning, followed by toner and cream — no conflicts with other products. It also works well as a second step of makeup removal: it removes leftover cleansing oil effortlessly and doesn’t sting the eyes.

The second product, the Hydrating Deep Cleanser, is targeted at problem skin — something I noticed only after buying it 🙂 This line has a slightly different design: thicker plastic, white-and-blue colors, and opaque packaging. The volume is 250 ml, and it comes with a standard lockable dispenser.

Its formula includes hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and clay, and it promises to reduce imperfections, control sebum, and remove makeup.

The gel is opaque, fairly runny and stringy, with a scent reminiscent of household soap — not the most pleasant, though thankfully it only lasts during application. It foams very well and is extremely economical. The cleansing action is excellent: not squeaky-clean, not drying, and suitable both for daily washing and removing makeup residue. It doesn’t sting the eyes or create a film, and it removes cleansing oil perfectly. Overall, a great product for a very budget-friendly price.
