Max Factor Colour Elixir Soft Matte Lipstick in Rose Dust — A Nostalgic Classic That Still Slays 💋

Let’s take a little trip down memory lane with Max Factor — a brand many of us grew up with. I don’t see as many posts about it these days, but to me, it’s still a solid classic. Their Colour Elixir Soft Matte line of liquid lipsticks is proof that the brand can still deliver quality — and my shade, 015 Rose Dust, is a gem.

The packaging is simple but elegant — soft-touch plastic with a transparent tube and golden cap. It holds 4 ml, though it looks larger. Inside, there’s a small applicator that spreads the product evenly; one dip is enough for both lips.

The shade 015 Rose Dust is a dusty rose-pink, very 2010s in spirit — and yet still beautifully relevant. The texture feels like a liquid mousse, rich but not runny. It has a slightly sweet, synthetic scent, which thankfully disappears after application.

The formula applies evenly, even on unprepped lips, and feels light as a second skin. It sets within 10–15 seconds and becomes completely weightless. What I love most is how smoothly it lays, without emphasizing dryness or settling into lines — and without that heavy, chalky look some mattes have.

It’s also long-wearing — easily survives lunch, fading gracefully only on the inner rim. Removal requires a two-phase remover or cleansing oil; micellar water won’t cut it. Overall, a beautiful, budget-friendly matte that feels far more expensive than it is.

💬 Final Thoughts:
A silky, reliable matte that revives memories of early beauty days — and still performs brilliantly today.

💰 Price: €3
Rating: 5– / 5 (minus for the scent — it can be a bit too noticeable during application)
