Yves Rocher Volume & Matière Hair Spray: volume first, care second

I can’t imagine my hair routine without leave-in sprays. Every morning I apply them to the lower third of my hair to soften the ends and prevent frizz. The Yves Rocher Volume & Matière Hair Spray pleasantly surprised me — though not without a few nuances.

The packaging is very well done: a transparent green bottle made of sturdy plastic, 150 ml in volume, with a fine mist spray that distributes the product evenly. The formula contains quinoa and agave extracts, designed to add elasticity and volume to the hair. When shaken, the spray slightly foams. The scent is lovely — fresh, with light citrus notes — and it stays on the hair throughout the day.

Visually, the spray looks like plain water: completely transparent, very lightweight, and it dries instantly on the hair. It noticeably eases detangling and really delivers on volume — the hair feels fuller, airier, and more elastic, without static or stiffness.

However, I personally miss hydration and nourishment. My ends still look a bit dry, so I need to pair this spray with other leave-in products. On the bright side, it can also be applied to damp hair along the entire length and then blow-dried — this way the volume effect becomes even more pronounced.

Overall, this is more of a styling product than a true care spray, but I continue using it with pleasure — the effect is beautiful and noticeable.
