Physician’s Formula Mineral Glow Pearls: a hidden gem among highlighters

I absolutely love highlighters and use them in almost every makeup look. I do have a small collection — it used to be bigger, but I decluttered it over time. Today, one of the top spots in my personal ranking belongs to Physician’s Formula Powder Palette Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl, which turns out to be a beautiful glowing highlighter rather than just a powder.

When I first saw this product, I wasn’t sure what it was supposed to be — a setting powder or a highlighter. Only swatching made it clear: this is definitely a glow product. It comes in a cardboard box with full information. Inside you’ll find 8 g of product, a mirror, a brush, and two separate compartments. The layout isn’t very practical for me: you have to open the product first to pick it up, and only then open the mirror. The included brush is quite stiff and completely useless — I tossed it right away.

The highlighter itself is lovely, though very soft. After the very first touch, I managed to rub off the central part (and yes, the surface has cute little pearl-like bumps). Since then, I’ve learned to pick it up gently so as not to press too hard.

There’s no visible base in this highlighter — it gives a pleasant glow, although it does contain individual shimmer particles. Personally, I prefer a more wet, skin-like shine, but this one can be buffed into the skin almost endlessly. On bare skin it lasts a few hours; over powder it can easily stay put until evening. I also really enjoy using it as an eyeshadow: applied with a finger and blended with a soft brown nude, it creates an effortless everyday eye look.

The product is extremely long-lasting in terms of usage — with such a generous amount, it could honestly last for years.
