A Refreshing First Encounter: Antipodes Flora Probiotic Skin-Rescue Hyaluronic Mask

I had never tried skincare from New Zealand before, but there’s a first time for everything. Thanks to a beauty box, the Antipodes Flora Probiotic Skin-Rescue Hyaluronic Mask landed in my hands — and now it holds an honorable place in my routine.

The packaging is excellent: a neat cardboard box, and inside a deep-blue metal tube with a screw-on cap and a protective seal. The seal must be pierced with the built-in tip inside the cap. The volume is 75 ml, which lasts a long time.

The mask itself is creamy, pinkish, and has a soft herbal scent. It applies effortlessly, spreads evenly, and creates a comforting warming sensation on the skin. There’s a slight tingling — likely due to active ingredients — but it’s tolerable. During the first couple of uses, my skin had a mild flush after rinsing, but it disappeared as my skin adapted.

The product partially absorbs, leaving a thin layer behind. It’s best removed with warm water and a sponge — washing it off with just your hands can be tricky. But the result is worth it: the skin becomes fresh, even-toned, hydrated, and incredibly soft — almost like after a salon treatment. The effect lasts about two days, which is impressive. And thanks to the probiotics, the skin’s microbiome stays balanced and supported.

The mask is economical in use, and the aluminum tube makes it easy to squeeze out every last drop.

Rating: 4.9/5 (minus for slight tingling during the first use)
