Essence Jelly Eyeshadow Stick — Frosted Twinkle Review

More and more brands are launching universal eyeshadow sticks with a jelly texture and multidimensional shimmer. I already tried similar ones from Catrice, so it was time to test their “younger sibling” from Essence. The collection includes three shades, and I chose the nude option — 01 Frosted Twinkle.

Overall, aside from the packaging, they are very similar to Catrice sticks. The weight is 2.5 g, there’s a protective cap and a plastic seal to prevent drying. However, the plastic itself looks prettier — it reflects rainbow colors beautifully.

The texture is jelly-like and very interesting, but it feels less dense than Catrice’s version. If you press too hard, the product can crumble or detach from the stick. So it definitely requires a gentle hand during application.

Shade 01 is a nude silver-pearl with a subtle lilac shift in certain lighting. The eyeshadow applies easily, gives a cooling sensation, and looks semi-transparent in one layer. I don’t recommend layering — it starts to crease faster and looks messy on the lid.

It’s best applied on bare skin or over the thinnest layer of a self-setting concealer. When applied correctly, the effect is stunning: in evening light and sunlight, it reflects multiple colors and sparkles beautifully. The wear time is all day without creasing (in one layer), and it removes easily with micellar water.

Overall, it’s a достойный budget-friendly product, although I personally liked the Catrice version more.
