Back in December, I discovered a new fragrance brand for myself — MCM. Their bottles are truly distinctive: each one is decorated with an animal head. In my case, it’s Zen Elephant, but the collection also features rabbits, dogs, bears, and other animals.
The fragrances are made in Munich, and each animal symbolizes a certain quality. The elephant, for example, represents wisdom and peace. I own the 10 ml travel version, while the full-size bottle contains 100 ml. The miniature fully replicates the original design, except for one detail — it doesn’t have a spray nozzle. This makes application a bit less convenient, but it’s still manageable.
The fragrance pyramid is as follows:
Top notes: grapefruit, freesia
Heart notes: cardamom, magnolia, truffle
Base notes: cedarwood, oakmoss, ambroxan
To me, this is a soft, floral, and very feminine scent. The grapefruit freshness is noticeable right away, but it’s not sharp or overly citrusy — rather light and wrapped in floral notes. As the fragrance develops, it becomes warmer, and the woody base comes forward quite clearly.
I really enjoy how comfortably it sits on the skin — it doesn’t project aggressively and feels very cozy. Longevity is around 4–5 hours, after which mainly the woody base remains.
