Multi-purpose products are a rare guest in my makeup bag. I prefer clear roles: blush is for cheeks, lipstick is strictly for lips. When one product tries to do everything at once, the final quality often suffers. Unfortunately, that’s exactly how my experience with the Zoeva Pout Perfect Lip & Cheek Pencil turned out.
Visually, the pencil looks nice but nothing extraordinary: a solid wooden pencil weighing 3.94 g, made in the Czech Republic, with a plastic cap. It sharpens easily and feels well-made overall.
My shade is Vanessa, a cool-toned pink. The format is convenient at first glance, but the texture is extremely soft, which requires a very careful hand. After accidentally dropping the pencil once, the tip deformed and now tends to spread the product wider than intended. Another downside is the scent — it reminds me of old-school classic lipsticks and is noticeable on the lips, which I personally don’t enjoy.
On the lips, the product applies too heavily. To achieve a neat look, I have to barely touch the lips with the pencil and blend immediately with fingers or a brush. Applied directly, it gives an overly thick, “mask-like” finish. On the plus side, it doesn’t bleed outside the lip contour.
On the cheeks, it performs better: a couple of strokes blended with a sponge give an even and pleasant flush.
The main drawback, however, is longevity. Whether used as a lipstick or as a blush, it doesn’t last long. On the lips, it disappears within a couple of hours and doesn’t survive drinks or food. On the cheeks, the color fades just as quickly, losing intensity and almost melting away.
Overall, the product left me with mixed feelings. The concept is interesting, but the execution and wear time fall short — and I don’t find myself reaching for it again.
