Foreo LUNA Play Plus 2 & Cleansing Balm — a surprisingly perfect duo

In a recently purchased beauty advent calendar, I came across a Foreo LUNA brush along with a cleansing balm. The balm came in a small 15 ml size and ran out in less than a week, but it was still more than enough to fully appreciate the product.

Despite its mini size, the balm came in a sturdy cardboard box in Foreo’s signature pink color. The jar itself is made of glass with a plastic lid, although there was no protective seal. The balm has a very rich, oily texture — soft, pliable, and quick to melt on contact with the skin. At the same time, it didn’t cause any discomfort: no greasy film in the eyes and no unpleasant taste on the lips.

The balm has a milky shade and no added fragrance. It emulsifies beautifully — just a bit of water turns it into the softest cleansing milk. Thanks to its texture, it removed absolutely everything: waterproof mascara, long-lasting matte lipsticks — all without residue or irritation. I genuinely loved it; it works just as well as many Korean cleansing balms. Paired with the brush, it performed even better — a real hidden gem.

As for the brush, I’ve tried many facial cleansing tools before — from basic plastic attachments (which I don’t recommend at all) to Foreo-inspired alternatives. But this was my first time trying the original Foreo LUNA Play Plus 2, and I was truly impressed.

My version doesn’t require charging and is designed for up to 600 uses — after that, it’s meant to be discarded. I have the purple version, which came in a protective plastic case with instructions. The brush is made of ultra-hygienic silicone and feels incredibly soft to the touch. The fine bristles pulsate up to 8,000 times per minute. It’s compact, fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, and activates with a single button on the back, producing a gentle humming sound.

I was skeptical at first, but after the very first use I was hooked — my skin had never felt this smooth before. I quickly incorporated the brush into my daily routine and haven’t looked back since. I use it during the second step of cleansing with a gel cleanser: the bristles help create a better lather, while the pulsations gently remove makeup residue and impurities. I spend about 5–10 seconds on each area of the face.

This method leaves my skin exceptionally clean, smooth, and fresh. The brush is gentle, doesn’t stretch the skin, and works delicately yet effectively. I’m absolutely in love with it.
