Not all micellar waters are created equal. Even though you can sometimes find real gems in the budget segment, Balea Mizellen Reinigungs Wasser 3in1 Rose sadly wasn’t one of them for me — and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Balea is a well-known German drugstore brand, and I actually enjoy many of their products, especially face masks and shower gels. So I decided to give their micellar water a try. The packaging is simple and minimalistic — a pink 400 ml bottle with a convenient flip cap and a small dispenser. It’s almost fragrance-free and slightly foams when shaken.
Unfortunately, the performance is very underwhelming. It feels like the product struggles to remove makeup — instead of dissolving it, it mostly just smears everything around. When it gets into the eyes, it stings a bit (not too much, but still noticeable).
Even after double cleansing, I still feel like my skin isn’t fully clean, which is a big downside for a micellar water.
In the end, I repurposed it for cleaning makeup sponges, but even there it’s far from ideal. It gets used up very quickly and the result is just mediocre.
