Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder: A Perfect Translucent Favorite

If there’s a perfect moment to talk about a favorite loose powder — it’s now. Today I’m sharing my thoughts on Anastasia Beverly Hills Loose Setting Powder in the shade Translucent.

In general, I strongly prefer loose powders. They feel lighter on the skin, and I don’t enjoy dense, heavy textures. My skin is dry, so pressed powders rarely work for me. Loose formulas, on the other hand, feel much more comfortable — and this one is definitely among my favorites.

The jar contains 6 g of product (there are also larger 25 g versions and other shades available). The powder is fully transparent. The ingredient list starts with talc, followed by mica. I personally have no issues with talc — with time I realized it has no negative effect on my skin.

Under the screw-on lid, there’s a sifter with small holes. The powder looks white in the jar, but once blended, it becomes completely invisible. It’s fragrance-free and applies effortlessly with both synthetic and natural brushes.

The powder is extremely finely milled and blends into a weightless veil, instantly mattifying the skin. When rubbed in with a finger, you can notice white edges along the borders, but this never happens when applied with a brush.

It sets makeup beautifully. Some of my foundations last only a couple of hours without powder, but with this one, their wear time easily doubles. What I love most is how weightless and silky it feels — it creates a natural skin finish without looking over-powdered.

It doesn’t emphasize fine lines or pores, doesn’t settle into creases, and doesn’t highlight dry patches. I’m 100% satisfied with this powder and keep coming back to it.
