This lip oil–tint is something I reach for almost every day during the warmer months. It’s Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil in the shade Happy.
This is (so far) my first product from the brand, but my wishlist already includes the bronzer, highlighter, and the new cream blushes. Now back to the lip oil itself. The packaging feels solid and well thought out: a cardboard box matching the shade, a coordinating opaque tube, and a gold cap with the brand’s signature rounded detail. The volume is 3 ml, though it looks much larger.
The tube is opaque, and inside there’s a fairly large, very soft applicator. It picks up enough product to cover both lips in one go. There’s no scent.
My shade, Happy, is a true chameleon. It pretends to be warm, but on my lips it turns into a cool pink. In swatches, the oil is applied generously, but that’s not how I usually wear it — I prefer a sheer layer. The formula applies smoothly, doesn’t run, and coats the lips evenly. There’s a slight cooling sensation that fades after about 4–5 minutes.
Right after application, the finish is glossy and oily, very comfortable. Over time, the shine fades, leaving behind a soft tint and well-groomed lips. I’ve read that for some people this tint can be drying, but I haven’t experienced that at all. Once the gloss wears off, the lips look natural, neat, and healthy.
I enjoy wearing this lip oil both on its own and paired with a lip liner. Most often, though, I apply it on the go — without even looking in the mirror.
This lip oil–tint completely works for me: it looks natural, gives a beautiful shine, leaves lasting color for several more hours after the gloss fades, doesn’t dry out my lips, and comes in a lovely, well-designed package.
