Yves Rocher Chamomile Cleansing Oil: a gentle comeback to oil cleansing

I genuinely enjoy cleansing balms and oils, but lately I’ve been buying them less often. Tired of micellar water, I decided to try the Yves Rocher Chamomile Cleansing Oil for Sensitive Skin — without reading reviews. And I almost didn’t regret it.

The brand promises gentle care for sensitive skin, no fragrance, effective removal of waterproof makeup, and no greasy residue. The formula contains 97% ingredients of natural origin, which is always a nice bonus.

The oil comes in a 150 ml plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. The texture is very fluid — more liquid than I expected. For the entire face including the eyes (I usually remove lip makeup separately), 2–3 pumps are more than enough. The scent is a bit unusual at first, slightly rancid, most likely due to sunflower oil being the first ingredient. Thankfully, the smell disappears quickly and doesn’t interfere with the cleansing process.

Overall, I liked this oil. It removes even long-wearing makeup effectively, doesn’t cloud the eyes, and doesn’t leave an oily film on the skin. When water is added, it emulsifies into a delicate white milk that feels very light and barely noticeable. As always, I follow up with a foaming cleanser as a second cleansing step — this way the skin feels perfectly clean.

In general, it’s a solid cleansing oil with good performance and economical usage, although I’d recommend buying it on discount.
