Klairs Gentle Black Fresh Cleansing Oil

I usually prefer to get acquainted with a new skincare brand through either a face mask or a cleansing product. With Klairs, I chose the latter — and I was quite satisfied. But is it really worth its price? Let’s find out.

Klairs is a Korean brand that focuses on minimalist formulas for facial care. Their concept is simple, effective skincare designed especially for sensitive or problem-prone skin. Since my skin leans toward sensitivity, the testing felt very relevant.

According to the brand, this cleansing oil is made of just six ingredients — which is true. About 85% of the formula is natural, including sunflower seed oil, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, and blackcurrant seed oil.

The bottle contains 150 ml of product, comes with a long nozzle, and has a safety lock against accidental pumping.

The oil is light and runny, with a yellowish tint. It smells like sunflower oil — not my favorite scent, but at least it’s natural and fades quickly once applied.

The texture feels gentle and lightweight. It spreads easily, removes even long-lasting makeup, and doesn’t irritate the eyes. No bitter aftertaste on the lips, no film or cloudy layer. I did feel it emulsifies a bit reluctantly, but in the end it does turn into a milky consistency. After rinsing, the skin feels soft, fresh, and clean, without any dryness.

The effect was nice overall, but here’s the question: is it worth paying such a high price when you can get similar results with more affordable oils? Brands like Beauty of Joseon or Banila Co perform almost the same for less money. So, while I liked the product, I doubt I’ll repurchase.
