L’Oréal Paris x Mugler Power Matte Lipstick Nude 02

Almost 10 years ago, L’Oréal had already released a makeup collection in collaboration with Balmain (the lipsticks were stunning), and now they’ve decided to continue the tradition with a new partnership with Mugler. Kylie Jenner became the face of the collection, which includes a cushion foundation, a creamy highlighter stick, eyeliner, mascara, two eyeshadow palettes, and four lipstick shades. Honestly, curiosity got the better of me, but I was only really interested in the lipsticks. I ordered the matte stick in shade Nude 02.

The lipstick comes in a silver box with Mugler’s signature star logo. The slim black matte tube is also marked with the brand name in silver. The packaging feels well-made and surprisingly heavy, even though the lipstick itself weighs only 1.8 g. It’s manufactured in China. The cap has a locking notch mechanism—which drives me crazy—because you have to click it shut precisely, and it’s impossible to close without looking.

The stick is thin, velvety, and shaped like a teardrop. It has a faint fragrance, but it’s not noticeable on the lips.

The shade Nude 02 is a deep mauve-pink. The texture is interesting—it’s matte, yet not drying at all, even slightly moisturizing. It goes on fully pigmented in just one layer, the shape makes it easy to apply without a lip liner, and it layers well without clumping or settling into lines. You can feel it a little on the lips, but nothing uncomfortable.

It’s not long-lasting—this is a classic lipstick formula that doesn’t set and transfers easily. On the other hand, it doesn’t dry out the lips and feels very comfortable to wear. It also removes cleanly with any micellar water without leaving a stain.

Overall, it’s a good lipstick, but not one that gives a wow effect. For me, it’s nice as part of a collection piece, but as an everyday product I probably wouldn’t buy it again—especially at this price compared to L’Oréal’s usual lipsticks.
