I mostly use bronzers in the summer — the rest of the year my skin is quite pale and “asks” more for a contour product. But in summer, bronzer becomes my main go-to. =) The best shimmering bronzer in the drugstore segment, in my opinion, is Rimmel Radiance Brick. Mine is in the shade 002 Medium.
The packaging is as simple as it gets — it reminds me of the famous Max Factor powder: a removable plastic lid with the product underneath. The volume is generous — a whole 12 g — enough to last forever. However, since the pigmentation is on the lighter side, those who like to build up intensity will need to pick up product more often, which of course means faster consumption.
The first ingredient is talc, which doesn’t bother me — my skin doesn’t react to it with breakouts or irritation.
The “brick” itself has 5 stripes of different colors — from ultra-light, almost like a face powder, to the deepest bronze. The idea is to swirl them together, which is exactly what I do, and the result is an even, beautiful shade. The bronzer is shimmery but not over the top — you won’t look like a Christmas tree, just slightly glowing with a natural radiance.
It has no fragrance, just a subtle powdery note. I usually apply it with a densely packed brush following the “3” technique. The effect is very natural — a soft veil that enhances a summer tan. The bronzer doesn’t cling to foundation or sunscreen, blends easily, and lasts all day without fading.
