I don’t use felt-tip eyeliners very often, but I still keep a few in my makeup bag. Unfortunately, not all of them turn out to be great. The Rimmel Wonder’Ink Eyeliner has several drawbacks that keep it from becoming one of my favorites.
The packaging is minimalistic and simple — a black plastic pen. It originally came sealed with protective plastic wrap. The volume is just 1 ml, and it’s made in Germany. Inside there is a thin felt-tip applicator that is very well saturated with product. The color is a true black with no patchiness or grey tone. However, because the tip is so heavily soaked, the liner releases pigment very easily and can smudge on the eyelid while applying.
I also struggle to create thin lines with it — the result is almost always a thicker wing. As for longevity, it’s rather disappointing. My eyelids are challenging (deep-set and slightly hooded), but I do have liners that last all day. This one holds up for about two hours at most. After that, the tip of the wing starts to fade and soon the entire line begins to smudge.
The good news is that it removes easily with regular micellar water.
