I’ve always loved Korean cleansing oils and balms — they’re the gold standard for gentle yet thorough cleansing. The Beauty of Joseon Ginseng Cleansing Oil is no exception — it’s almost perfect, if only the dispenser behaved better.
🧴 Packaging & first impressions
The oil comes in a simple plastic bottle (210 ml), packaged in a minimalistic cardboard box — very much in the brand’s signature aesthetic. The only downside is the pump: it tends to “spit” the product in random directions, so sometimes you’ll find oil on your sink instead of your hand. A small inconvenience, but one worth mentioning.
🍃 Texture, scent & performance
The texture is perfectly balanced — light yet nourishing, without being greasy. It’s almost scentless, which I really appreciate. Three pumps are enough to remove a full face of makeup — even long-wear foundation, waterproof mascara, and matte lipstick.
It doesn’t create that annoying “film” in the eyes, doesn’t sting, and leaves no bitter taste on the lips. It’s incredibly gentle, even on the most sensitive skin.
When rinsed, it emulsifies beautifully into a soft, milky texture that washes off completely without residue. I always follow up with a foam cleanser as part of my double-cleansing routine — and afterward, my skin feels fresh, clean, and balanced.
✅ Pros: gentle, effective, scent-free, doesn’t irritate eyes
❌ Cons: messy pump
