⭐ Essence The Jeans Club Collection — One Hit, One Miss

The latest Essence collection is all about denim! I was instantly drawn to the fun packaging and unusual products, but I ended up picking up only two items. One disappointed me, and the other one won me over completely. Which one became my favorite? Let’s take a look.

Essence The Jeans Club Lipgloss 01 Gloss Up In Jeans

Let’s start with the favorite. The packaging immediately stands out with its “crushed glass” effect, reminiscent of a certain well-known brand. In reality, it’s sturdy plastic. Made in China, 4 ml.

The lipgloss has a small applicator, but it picks up enough product to cover both lips with a thin layer in one go. The scent is pleasant, slightly floral, and unobtrusive.

In swatches, the gloss looks pinkish with a yellowish duochrome shift, but that effect appears only under certain lighting. On the lips, it’s a translucent gloss with a subtle pink undertone — but the sparkle is stunning, especially under artificial light. The shimmer is ultra-fine, so the gloss doesn’t look cheap.

It also works beautifully as a topper — I apply it over lip liner to add some shine to grey days. The gloss doesn’t break down the base layer and wears evenly. Longevity is average, but it fades gracefully, without drying or feathering. The formula feels more like an oil-gel hybrid. I love it!

Essence The Jeans Club Hydra Kiss Lip Oil 107 Blue Is the New Pink!

This one, unfortunately, disappointed me — although it looks incredibly tempting. It’s a blue tinted lip oil with a tinting effect. Made in Poland, 4 ml.

The packaging is excellent, with a big plush applicator that holds enough product for both lips in one dip. The oil is thick, glossy, candy-scented, and creates a mirror-like finish. On swatches, you can already see the tint starting to develop.

Application is easy, the texture doesn’t run, and it wraps the lips in a dense layer — transforming from blue to a plum-pink shade. But then comes the problem: once it fully develops, the tint becomes an aggressive fuchsia that looks uneven and unflattering on me. The tint stains the inner lip intensely, giving a sickly effect. The gloss fades quickly, leaving patchy neon pigment behind.

Worn with lip liner, it looks slightly better — but only until the gloss disappears. After that, the bright stained mucosa looks ridiculous.

And the biggest disappointment: in the cold, the oil turns white. I was shocked to see a white film over my lips in the mirror — and it’s hard to remove. Clearly, some ingredients change consistency in low temperatures, completely ruining the finish.
